Easter

We had great fun on the day we got our Easter Holidays.  The children in the Junior Room played games such as Bunny Hopping, Easter Egg and Spoon Races and Easter Egg Rolling.  The whole school came together then for an Eater Egg Hunt. The Junior Room had to find Easter eggs on the pitch.  We made it a bit harder for the Senior Room who had to find eggs hidden under cones without touching the cones with their hands.  Every child in the school also got an Easter Egg to bring home.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Congratulations to all the children, parents, families and staff of Cloonloo N.S. who came first in the Gurteen St. Patrick's Day Parade and who won the U16 category in the Boyle St. Patrick's Day Parade.    The children did an excellent job with their dance "I Need a Hero"  and fighting off "Mr. Quinn".   Thanks very much to all the parents and staff  for so many things - making the sign posts, printing and lamenting signs and marching on the day.

Green School Update - Flowers

As part of the Green School Programme we had to make the school grounds more attractive.  We planted spring flowers and heather in a box at the gable of the school. We also got some hanging baskets to brighten up the yard.

National Tree Week 2012 by Eoin Dowd

Last Friday (March 9th ), Thomas Crummy came to our school to plant an apple tree. We took turns to dig a hole.  We used fertilizer to put on top. Nikita put the stake beside the tree and tied it.  We dressed in camouflage to hide in trees. We used greens and browns. We got our faces painted.  Parents and my Granny came to see us.  We got photographs taken.  It was a really fun day.  Even my Granny enjoyed it.  I think we should plant a tree every year for National Tree Day

We has 6 weeks of hip hop dance lessons with Victoria Walker.  Some of the moves were very tricky but it was a lot of fun.

World Book Day

World Book Day took place on the 1st March.  To celebrate the day, each child in the school was given a book to keep.  The children enjoyed reading their books.  They watched World Book Day events on the internet and played games based on stories.
